About FBM
Our Beginning
When we started Foundation Building Materials in 2011, things weren’t easy. The construction industry was still recovering, and it took a lot of faith and hard work to get off the ground. But from day one in Orange, California, we built this company on a solid foundation, one made of trust, relationships, and doing the right thing for people.
The name “Foundation” came from the Bible and parable of building your house on a solid foundation. We wanted it to mean more than just the products we sell. It had to stand for strength, stability, and support, the same things our customers and employees could count on every day.
The cypress tree in our logo brought that to life. To me, it’s a reminder of resilience and deep roots, growing strong no matter the conditions. Those values helped us through the early challenges and still guide every decision we make.
What began as a small team with a big idea has grown far beyond what we imagined. Today, as part of the Lowe’s family, we’re proud to keep building on that same foundation one relationship, one community, and one delivery at a time.

Every member of the FBM family works together to deliver on safety, service, innovation, and value. Through strong relationships, reliable service, and a commitment to doing things the right way, we create opportunity and growth for our customers and our people.

When people think of Foundation Building Materials, I want them to think of a solid company built on strong values, great people, and a real commitment to doing things the right way. I’ve been in this industry for over 30 years, and what stands out most to me is the importance of respect. We respect our customers and the people we work with every day. FBM was built to be a place people can believe in and feel proud to be part of.
Every customer has a choice of where to buy their building materials, and they deserve a supplier they can count on. Trust is what makes that possible. It grows from showing up, staying consistent, and always doing what’s right. Every delivery we make helps our customers keep their projects on track, and that means a lot to us. The next chapter in FBM’s journey is joining the Lowe’s family. We’re excited to reach more customers and keep building on the same values that have guided us from the beginning.
